The SAAB SALOMON CROSSMAX SERIES stopped at Blue Mountain on January 29th and 30th. This high-energy event saw pro and amateur racers compete in the following categories: Men and Women 19 years and over, K1 (11-12 years), K2 (13-14 years, J1 (15-16 years), J2 (17-18 years) and Senior (19 years and over. The pro-cash purse on the line in Collingwood was $10,000. Amateurs could win $10,000 worth of Salomon product. In the Pro format, only the fastest 16 women and 32 men advanced to Skiercross. Each Skiercross heat consisted of 4 skiers and a single elimination format was in place seeing the top 2 skiers advance while the 3rd and 4th place skiers were eliminated. The spectators gathered at the bottom of the hill were treated to an air show as every skier launched themselves off the final jump just before crossing the finish line.
